The Olive Groves - CDJ - To Alcaudete
How many olive trees does one need to see in a lifetime? I think I’ve had my share from just today, but I’m still not tired of them.
They are very picturesque. The lighting and clouds helped make many of these scenes pop.
It’s hard to show just how many olive trees there are here. The orchards strech from horizon to horizon.
Today’s great dog. The pup in the background was not happy at all about his coworkers friendliness to the pilgrims. “What are you doing??” It barked. “Those people are untrustworthy!!”
Today’s lunch: carrots, cucumber, hummus, tomatoes, cheese, crackers. Not bad.
We crossed a Roman bridge today. I find these old structires fascinating. They are still standing and in use thousands of years later.
See that distant mountain in the background? You can just make out the white band below it. That’s where we started today, some ten miles away at this point. Most of the towns and villages here are painted white. It makes them easy to see from afar.
The castle and church of Alcaudete.
Today’s sunset.
Spain has been good to us. Today was a very beautiful day. The sun and road beat us down this afternoon. We are very tired, but happy.
